Drop-in anchors are used in medium to heavy-duty applications in solid concrete base material. The drop-in anchor is a flush, female anchor that requires a setting tool that is used to drive the internal plug into the anchor, causing the anchor to expand.

A Drop-In anchor consists of a zinc plated steel tubular expansion shield and a solid, cone-shaped expander plug. The expander plug is case hardened and tempered to prevent galling and binding during expansion. The shield has four equally spaced slots for a portion of its length, the bottom part may be knurled. The shield also has a smooth, flangeless top that allows either flush or countersunk installation. the bottom lip of the shield is tapered to allow maximum depth and holding power.
Ideal for overhead applications, because they require relatively shallow embedment and eliminates the use of couple nuts when threaded rod used to drop from ceiling.
Highly dependable, as anchor is completely set and assured when the lip of the setting tool meets the lip of the anchor.
Drop-in anchors come in five sizes, 1/4”,3/8”,1/2”,5/8”,3/4”. The size of the anchor reflects the diameter of threaded rod or bolt that can be inserted into anchor, thus the hole to be drilled is larger than anchor size (See technical information below).
The expansion of the anchor wall by the internal tapered plug.
